Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She started working at ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since the age nine years old, a valuable ability that allowed her to secure her first position as a production associate at Univision in Miami which gave her the chance to collaborate with producers of national programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then, the CBS subsidiary of St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. In 2009, she relocated from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as an anchor for the newscast of KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories related to immigration and drug trafficking both across the Texas and Mexico the border. She served as a journalist on Fox2 News, which is a Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Her duties as an anchor for sports or weather were frequent requests. She was then the anchor reporter and anchor for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. She was then given higher responsibilities. The pieces she produced were on MLB's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of Univision 23's local sports broadcast Accion Deportiva Extra on which she was anchor herself. She worked in the same job as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents are originally native to Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She's older than her sister. The family moved in Miami in 1992 after they left Mexico. The couple divorced shortly thereafter and, in 1995 she tied the knot with an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 of kidney cancer. In the summer of 2006, she had one week with her sibling in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta was at the end of her senior year in high school however, she had a clear idea of her goals for the future. She went to Mount Union University in order to decide if it would be a good fit for her. The result was that she enjoyed the university as well as the fact that it offered the degree she was looking for. She completed her schooling and received a scholarship to the University to pursue a degree in Media studies. Her instructor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was member of her class, established a long-lasting relationship with the student. His enthusiasm for journalism and her self-confidence prompted her. She, in turn attempted to live up to the standards he set and to not let him down.
